Dawn from Vetiver by Snow Ghosts
Snow Ghosts follow the recent release of two new tracks with a further release this July. ‘Vetiver’ / ‘Dawn’ follows ‘Lied’ / ‘Decorate My Bones’ in demonstrating the band’s abilities to create dark, intelligent music that draws on the varied influences and experiences of the three members, augmented in recent times by a live drummer. Fusing the motoric beats of Krautrock via the dancefloor to distorted guitars and singer Hannah Cartwright’s emotive vocals, lead track ‘Vetiver’ is a propulsive and epic work, complimented by a video from Mark Devenport and Lucas Roche that echoes the German gothic masterpieces of early silent cinema in both mood and execution and builds on the ‘wonderful gothic drama’ of 'Lied.’
Some fans of the Ghosts may have already heard ‘Dawn’ via its recent premiere on Julie Adenuga’s Apple Beats 1 show.

Sharing a mutual influence of the shadowy elements of British folklore and the heavier side of experimental noise, a disparate array of reference points combines to form Snow Ghosts’ bewitching and oft intoxicating sound. Throwing Snow and Augustus Ghost are now joined by multi-instrumentalist Oliver Knowles to pool their individual inspirations, ideas and styles under the moniker of Snow Ghosts.
