"Portable Aquarium is kind of split into two parts however both parts have the same concept and vision. On one side you have the upbeat, structured songs like Manta Ray, Scuba Diver, Fish Heaven, etc. and on the other side you have the more ambient, loose soundscapes like Penguin and Ocean Floor. Track 5, Whales, is the first of those ambient songs on Portable Aquarium. Towards the middle of the track you can hear the sounds of the whales singing along.. and it's just nice. I find it to be dreamy. Though sometimes I do create them myself, I get most of my atmospheric sounds and pads from a popular VST called Nexus. It's full of ethereal sounds and the possibilities are just endless with it. I love using it and it really helps me to be more creative actually because once I find a sound I like, I can then use my other tools to reverse it, add a filter to it, arpeggiate it, distort it, or absolutely drench it in reverb to create various elements for my songs. I find the process to be one of my favorite parts of doing what I do. But yeah, Whales sounds cinematic and is very atmospheric and relaxing to me so I'm glad to have it be apart of Portable Aquarium."
