Described as the “Wolf of Moody Creek”, Slim Deal speaks a new, gritty truth.
Slim Deal will launch his debut LP “DuoTone”, at 5Five Studio’s, and the 8 track vinyl record is a compilation of first hand data, documenta, part-fiction and myth: the songs stretch from inner city Naarm to the deep north of Gimuy and beyond.
Assembled from a catalogue of myth, experience, and local mystery, Slim Deal pens evocative and abstract songs that speak to the underbelly and the absurd.
Part art-brat, part crooning icon, Slim draw’s from naïve guitar licks, sampled objects, traditional drum’s, grumblin’ bass and various electronics.
Slim states “DuoTone is a state of mind……....your gold is the fool”.
Accompanied by a large screen presence, each song has it’s unique moving-image score, and Slim Deal takes the audience on an immersive journey of intrigue, stunted movement, visual mystery and sonic colour.
