Spu is a sonic journey through the gentle, surreal, and occasionally uncanny world of a small plushie with a big soul. Given to my daughter on her one-month birthday by her uncle Jökull, Spu began life as a simple gift—but soon became a guardian, a dream-companion, and the silent witness to her earliest days.

This album imagines Spu’s secret adventures when no one is watching. From drifting between toybox kingdoms to navigating the liminal glow of a nightlight-lit room, Spu traces moments of wonder, melancholy, and spiritual curiosity. Synths swell like lullabies half-remembered, textures shimmer like a baby’s dream, and distant echoes evoke the boundless imagination of early childhood.

Both intimate and otherworldly, Spu is a tribute to innocence, protection, and the quiet magic that animates the objects we love. Through ambient soundscapes, Spu’s world comes alive—not as a toy, but as a being of purpose, navigating the mystery of existence one soft step at a time.
