Only Echoes by Sinking
Only Echoes is the band’s debut full-length, eight songs that explore themes of loss, self-reflection, and maturation. Sonically, Sinking is influenced by a wide range of 90s emo and alt-rock, referencing bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, Failure, Archers of Loaf, The Get Up Kids, and Jawbreaker. Though several members have backgrounds in hardcore and punk (having played in bands like Maniac, Piece of Mind, Restraining Order, etc.), Sinking explores other sounds while still maintaining ties to that scene.

Sinking formed in the late summer of 2017 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, with Devan and Dane both on guitar and vocals, and Tyson on drums. Sinking’s original bassist, Tony, left the band last summer, after which friend Nate took over bass duties. The first EP, Gloom, was released in February 2018, followed up by an EP entitled Nightmare in November 2018.
