The master of the harmonica, Sigmund Groven (born march 16, 1946), releases a collection of recordings that have never before been available on streaming services. Most of the material on this album are recordings of performances from live concerts, but there are also some studio recordings. «In Concert» contains 26 tracks where a lot of the repertoire is original works specially written for the harmonica by legends like Tommy Reilly, James Moody, Gordon Jacob, and especially by Sigmund himself.
For more than five decades Sigmund Groven has had an international career as soloist, composer and recording artist. He was born in Heddal, Telemark, Norway, into a musical family; his uncle, Eivind Groven, was a composer and musicologist. Sigmund’s interest in the harmonica was aroused at the age of nine upon hearing a record of the legendary harmonica pioneer, the late Tommy Reilly.
