it happened again
pushed all my friends to clear a path
and believed it was right
this happened before
starting over; wanting more
but i know i’ll leave it behind
packed up the car
drove into hell alone and saw
through it all i came out alright
the years plagued before
with nothing to lose but time itself
take a chance to change where you’ll land

because we’re coming of age
with time to waste
and time to chase
fruitless mistakes
we dreamed about

but this fall proved the hardest yet
and i know it won’t be the last
the sun will descend
again and again and again
