ELENA STATION—Owned and operated by the VYMOL Corporation, Elena Station lies on the outer edge of the Asteria star system. A mid-sized interstellar outpost with a population cresting five hundred thousand, Elena Station was originally built as a mining colony. During the Asteria Wars the station found itself pressed into service as a diplomatic hub, a refugee camp and a military asset. Business boomed. But as the war draws to a close, tensions between Chilzulian refugees, an incipient underclass and a wealthy overclass have started to boil over. Exacerbated by the station’s implicit racism against the Chilzulian refugees and the recent assassination of a Chilzulian activist, the station descends into civil unrest bordering on an uprising. Jace Orion, a reporter with the popular holosheet The Elena Daily, undertakes an investigation into the activist’s murder. In the process, Orion uncovers a web of racism, police corruption, conspiracy and ultimately VYMOL’s terrifying plan for the Chilzulian refugees.
