im picking up the pieces
the pieces that i dropped
my fingers are broken
but im too stubborn to stop

my bellies turned yellow
my face has gone grey
my eyes turn to the ground below
and my lips they prey

i saw a mountain made of words
on its peak existed a verse
contained all the secrets the universe has ever heard
like how does it snow
and why get old
and will it ever end

im so much older now
years of experience drawn on my face
i've done my fair share of wondering
in this cold dark place

this fever has been brewing
for a matter of months
so i fill my head with fairytales
but it doesn't help too much
