Nightsongs by Science Teheran

Nightsongs emerged during a period of creative insomnia, where the nocturnal hours became my most intimate composition space. The album unfolds as a sonic journey that follows the complete arc of night, from dusk to dawn.

The piano is the main narrator of this story, but it's not alone. It's accompanied by subtle layers of analog synthesizers with soft filters, distant strings processed with deep reverb, and occasional electronic textures that emulate the movement of the night air.

The album's structure follows the natural flow of night: it begins with contemplative pieces that reflect the calmness of nightfall, moves towards more introspective and darker compositions in the heart of night, and culminates with themes that anticipate the light of dawn.

To achieve different textures and tonal colors, I explored a variety of virtual pianos, from the intimate and detailed instruments of Imperfect Samples to the modern and versatile pianos from Native Instruments. Each piece uses a specific combination of these instruments to create its own sonic personality, while maintaining the album's cohesion.

This is an album designed to be listened to in its entirety, preferably in solitude and darkness. Each piece flows naturally into the next, creating a continuous soundscape that invites introspection and contemplation of our relationship with the night.

Science Teheran is a project led by Spanish composer Vicente Bueso. Influenced by artists like Ryuichi Sakamoto, Brian Eno, Wim Mertens, Peter Gabriel, and Dead Can Dance, he experiments with new, contemporary approaches to Classical, Ambient, and Dramatic music. Much of Science Teheran's music features dreamy piano and strings, as well as beautifully atmospheric synthetic elements.
