Footstep quiet on a snowflake
Subtle as the sound made when hearts break
Night so cold that the air aches
Lungs crystallize upon intake
Picture perfect frame of reflection
Within winter's other worldly dimension
Late night conversation with a grave site
Confessing my mistakes until the daylight, it ain't right

Between the sunrise and the pain
Unspoken things dwell deep within
Like children in a state of grace

The last thing I needed was you gone when you left
It's safe to say that those last days were far from best
