In 2012, bassist Heiko Grumpelt formed the band as a quartet inspired by the sound and style of the Nat King Cole Trio. Since then they have been performing regularly in clubs and ballrooms across Germany for swing dancers and swing enthusiasts. In 2014, the band began a monthly residency at 'White Trash Berlin' and later added three horns and a drummer to the ensemble.
