Cactus Flowers from Magrathea by Sappho

This song almost didn't exist.

When I first announced my Magrathea album, it was going to have 8 songs. Then, my friend Dylan (inventor of The Countermatic V-6000) noticed the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference in the title, and jokingly asked if the album would have 42 songs on it. I thought, "shit, I wish I thought of that". Then, I realized that if I added one more song to this album, my whole discography would contain 42 songs! Huzzah!

I then went about seeking inspiration, and found it in the form of my gorgeous cactus siblings (the cactuses my parents bought to celebrate my birth) blooming bigger than I had ever seen. I hereby officially dedicate this song to Dylan, his family, my family, and all succulents on earth.
