Concrete Floors from Weird Summer by Sankofa
Of the beats wingclipper sent, I voted this "least likely to get rapped on." Fortunately, I was wrong and its energy struck me as the perfect way to close out this project. I sat on the track a while, then combed through one of my two flooded notebooks and found the baptismal font line, which set into motion that entire first verse. Verse two came about as I drove past a bar that had since been condemned and that made me start thinking of my only visit and seeking to capture the power of that experience.
