Strength Deluxe by Samory I

Samory I’s STRENGTH album, released late in 2023, has been one of the most celebrated reggae albums of the year and arguably, the decade. The record was #42 on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of the Year (the only reggae release picked); voted as the best album of the year by fans in Germany’s RIDDIM magazine (along with producer of the year for Winta James for this album); and garnered playlisting everywhere from Bob Marley Tuff Gong Radio to Radio Nova (France), song of the day features on KEXP and Ebro Darden’s Apple Music show. Now the album is being released in a deluxe digital version, which features three brand new songs (including a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “You Will Know”) along with three dub versions of those songs, mixed by Fumiaki Ogata. For those who already know about the magic of this album, this will just add to it; for those who have yet to experience Samory I’s acclaimed record, this is a perfect way to dig in for the first time.

Samory I's recording career began with his first single for AJANG Records: “Just Believe”. In 2014, he recorded his debut album with Rory Stone Love. This included “Take Me Oh Jah,” “Rasta Nuh Gangsta,” and “African Queen.” The sky's the limit for this talented artist. He has toured Europe regularly in recent years. He is working with producer Winta James on an album due in 2022.
