This is a preview of the types of recordings that are included in the library.
HEADPHONES are strongly recommended to properly experience the recordings, as they were captured in a binaural array.
I was at home working on something, and heard the symphony of small explosions outside, so I put my binaural dummy head and recorder on the balcony, so I could listen later. The recordings weren't so bad! I'm sharing with you here. Please enjoy!
Neighborhood fireworks captured the evening of July 4th 2016 from my balcony via a binaural dummy head housing DPA 4060's.
All files were recorded via DPA 4060 microphones in a binaural array, into a Sound Devices 744t at 24 bit 96K.
The stereo .wav files are enriched with descriptive metadata, as well as embedded photos of the actual dummy head used. They are not processed in any way, these are the original recordings.
This is a snapshot of the evening as heard from my balcony. Common in South Florida, the festivities were cut short due to a light drizzle (but the die hards kept on), so there is an eery recording of distant fireworks (sounds like gunshots) with a light misty shimmer of rain falling. You'll hear children laughing, neighbors admiring the fireworks, car by's, etc.
