Yellow Balloons from Grow by Rose Alaimo
Yellow Balloons was written the year before I started veterinary school. I had serious doubts about going, felt super conflicted and confused, felt completely trapped, and was also battling some serious depression and loneliness. This song was written with the aim of creating a song that sounded how I felt with no filters. Thinking no one would ever hear it, I completely let it out. This is the original track which was recorded and mixed during that time when I was 22- the only added tracks were the drums.

Sometimes it's just so hard to get out of bed alone

So I died of an unused heart, it's just so black alone
The world shut down and we weren't told, believe me I know
I can't find my yellow balloons, so sad to be alone
