Crow Covert by riverrun
Following the release of 2021's "Avalon Marsh", the new riverrun album "Crow Covert" is the second album in a trilogy of works focused on the landscapes of Somerset.
In the autumn of 2019, I returned to the West Somerset coast for the first time in nearly 20 years. Returning as an adult, to a place that had meant so much to me as a teenager, was both powerful and inspiring, and I have since returned every year, out of season, to record in this remote, rugged, and peaceful location.
"Crow Covert" is the second release from these sessions. The album was recorded in a rented holiday home overlooking the West Somerset coast, through September and October 2021.

Daniel Land's riverrun project is a series of heavily-composted landscape recordings, that he has been working on for nearly two decades in parallel to his songs. Building upon the groundwork laid down by Brian Eno's 'On Land' album, riverrun's music painstakingly layers field recordings and reprocessed studio tracks into a deeply nostalgic exploration of geography and memory.
