The 1962 album by the NASCAR racing driver turned country idol. The title track was a crossover hit in the UK from one of 60 albums that the late great singer recorded as he switched through rockabilly, country and blues before carousing the outlaw country genre typified by Waylon, Willie and Johny Cash. A champion of gunfighter ballads, ‘Devil Woman’ saw him turn to a few songs of the heart including ‘Ain’t Life A Crying Shame’, ‘In The Ashes Of And Old Love Affair’ and the awesome ‘Love Is A Hurting Thing’ among others.
