Cloud Rider by Richard Souther

Isn't it funny when artists get asked, "Which of your albums is your favorite?" The answer is usually, "The next one."
I've decided to release "Cloud Rider" on June 22nd, a date that holds a lot of meaning for me. It's my birthday, and it also marks the anniversary of a significant event. Last year on this day, my wife and I were moving into a new house, and we both fell ill with Covid. Life sure knows how to throw a curve!
Before I got back into writing music, there were some things I needed to take care of. I had to set up my studio, learn about the acoustics of the room where I'd be recording and mixing, and rekindle my creative energy.
Over the next few months, I created nearly ninety potential songs. From those, I selected twenty and finally chose the best twelve for the album. "Cloud Rider" offers a range of different feelings and sounds. It features guitar-like melodies, orchestral elements, and unique rhythms. Despite the variety, everything comes together to form a cohesive musical journey. I want to give a big thanks to my good friend Eric Persing for his helpful advice and for remixing some of my songs. I'm also grateful to André Lefebvre for creating such a stunning album cover. Most importantly, I can't forget my amazing wife Cyndi, who has always been my biggest supporter in my music. Cloud Rider is ‘the next one” ;-)
