Control Remoto by Dj Taktel & Comodo

Control Remoto no solo es el nacimiento de un proyecto y de una crew, es también un disco muy significativo para nuestra ciudad y para el panorama hip hop jazz nacional considerando el año de su publicación, 2010.

Dj Taktel y Cómodo aparecen en una época donde los discos de hip hop tenían un enfoque casi exclusivo hacia el Mc. Los scratches y partes instrumentales empezaban a escasear. En este disco encontrarás temas con sonidos jazz mezclados con las técnicas del turnatblism. Samplers, scratches, interludios, rap… Hay cortes que suenan a hip hop abstracto, otros a funk breaks o acid jazz…piezas de un collage elaborado mano mano por ambos productores.  El propósito de esta re edición es no solo tenerlo en el catálogo de Remedy como poder compartirlo y traerlo a un presente en el que la sinergia entre jazz y hip hop ya no supone ningún tabú en ambas escenas.

Esta edición constará de 25 cassettes y ed. digital, a la venta en el Bandcamp de Remedy Music Vlc.

Remote Control is not only the birth of a project and a crew, it is also a very significant album for our city and for the national hip hop jazz scene considering the year of its publication, 2010.

Dj Taktel and Cómodo appear at a time when hip hop records had an almost exclusive focus on Mc. Scratches and instrumental parts were becoming scarce. On this album you will find songs with jazz sounds mixed with turnatblism techniques. Samplers, scratches, interludes, rap... There are cuts that sound like abstract hip hop, others like funk breaks or acid jazz... pieces of a collage made hand by hand by both producers. The purpose of this reissue is not only to have it in the Remedy catalog but also to be able to share it and bring it to a present in which the synergy between jazz and hip hop is no longer taboo in both scenes.

This edition will consist of 25 cassettes and ed. digital, for sale on the Remedy Music Vlc Bandcamp.

“Dj Taktel & Cómodo’s Control Remoto” (Coffy Records, 2010) fue el siguiente proyecto de Dj Taktel tras “Arrugas en el Chándal”. En él entra en escena el también productor Cómodo. El disco supone una fresca incursión en el hip-hop abstracto más cinemático con toques de turntablism. En el apartado de las colaboraciones encontramos los raps de Alberto Gambino en dos temas y los cuts de Dj Soak en el tema “Antivirus”. Destaca la aportación de Vicent Colonques en varios temas, proporcionando arreglos e instrumentación real en un proyecto dominado por el muestreo. Mención especial requiere el maravilloso artwork por parte de Raúl Climent del estudio Menta, rindiendo homenaje a la portada de Saul Bass para la banda sonora de “Anatomía de un asesinato realizada” por Duke Ellington. Adaptación del artwork a casete por Gogals desing.

“Dj Taktel & Cómodo’s Remote Control” (Coffy Records, 2010) was the next project by Dj Taktel after “Arrugas en el Chándal”. In it, the producer Cómodo also enters the scene. The album is a fresh foray into the most cinematic abstract hip-hop with touches of turntablism. In the collaborations section we find Alberto Gambino's raps on two songs and Dj Soak's cuts on the song “Antivirus”. The contribution of Vicent Colonques stands out in various themes, providing arrangements and real instrumentation in a project dominated by sampling. Special mention requires the wonderful artwork by Raúl Climent from the Menta studio, paying homage to the cover of Saul Bass for the soundtrack of “Anatomy of a Murder Performed” by Duke Ellington. Adaptation of the artwork to cassette by Gogals desing.
