New Year, falling every
year on 21 March.
A pagan tradition
featuring fire as a
central component, it’s
a celebration forbidden
under the Taliban
administration.

musicians - Aman has
travelled several times
to Mazar-I-Sharif - a
holy city which many
Afghans regard as the
site of the tomb of Caliph
