"The album aims to combine the unforgiving pacing of Primitive Man, the high-energy abrasion of Secret Cutter, the narrative riff-writing and abhorrent vocals of Indian and The Body, and the harsh synthetic noise textures of Gnaw Their Tongues and Author & Punisher. There are two guitar sections, one baritone that doubles the industrial bass with Meth Drinker style riffs, and a high-guitar section that plays dissonant and poly-tonal progressions similar to Yellow Eyes over the bass line. Other notable influences include Walk Through Fire, Crawl (TX), and None (US).

This album is overtly political. From the beginning, Remorseful has been and antifascist and intersectional-feminist project. The lyrics of this record are meant to speak directly against the rising tide of ethno-nationalist sentiment in America, directly criticize its leaders, and show conservative trolls how their hatred is fueled by misdirected anger towards their own depression. The extreme, dire nature of these criticisms and calls for action were largely inspired by the strong antifascist politics of Neckbeard Deathcamp, who arguably popularized a modern wave of humanist black metal."
