Swiss Jazz trumpet player / electronic music producer Yannick Barman is releasing his latest album, “Lonely Perfection,” on Beijing label Ran Music. It includes 8 tracks he created during his artist residency in Beijing and Shanghai. This album is about loneliness and traveling and Yannick Barman uses his trumpet to tell stories of the landscapes and experiences of isolation being in a foreign country. With his amazing electronic music production skills, the whole album is one futuristic landscape epic.

Born in Switzerland in 1973, Yannick Barman started out as a classical and jazz artist but soon begin to take an interest in electronic music. From that point on he has been integrating computers into his sounds. Because of his delicate beats and ambient-sound background he gets invited to projects with Jazz and Classical musicians and tours around Europe, Asia and Africa.

His electronic-acoustic show includes both visuals and music. He plays trumpet and computer accompanied by live electronic music. The compositions are realized from his trumpet's sounds, sampled and transformed, then added with electronic beats. The result is the extraction of new, potentially limitless sounds from the trumpet.

“Lonely Perfection” is Yannick Barman’s 4th solo album after “29” in 2012, “Stalker” in 2016, and “Silentium” in 2018. The music of “Lonely Perfection” is a narrative and the trumpet becomes his voice, soft or hoarse, sometimes silent, sometimes deafening, with all kinds of emotions, because nothing is more perfect than loneliness.
