"Tinnitus, the perception of sound without an external source, has a long history, with evidence of its recognition and treatment dating back to ancient civilizations. Accounts dating back to ancient Egypt described tinnitus, offering remedies often involving oils, frankincense, and other ingredients infused into the ear. Throughout history, various cultures attributed tinnitus to different causes such as divine punishment, imbalances in the body or mischievous spirits inhabiting the ear."

"This began life as a Morbid Beauty album called 'The Illusion Of Sound' and then 'Tinnitus', but it changed shape to become a thing in its own right. Its own independent beast. Just like the affliction itself.

Ever since attending my first concert in 1991, tinnitus has been a 'friend', a colleague, coworker, companion. A constant. I've had to treat it as so, otherwise I would definitely lose my mind in those times it becomes more overwhelming than the day-to-day outside world soundtrack. I have learned to cope, to manage, to muffle its effect and soften the sticking of its sonic pins into my sanity... but I still hope desperately a more solid cure will present itself in my lifetime.

For those who use noise as therapy or to blanket the noises in their heads! I hope the album brings you SOLACE in the battles."
