The Current by Quantumspeck

This is an album made with irony and wonder. Awareness without mindful indulgence - subterranean understanding. Current – something which moves “things”, which moves through more than things. Overt energy, yet the more powerful, the more benign: sunlight, gravity, collective memories. Unidentified Flowing Occurrences - fleeting and fragmentary imaginary melodic partials pass through the moment. The current of the space between gives identity to everything. Stable by allowing time, accepting the vagaries of time. Teetering with uncertainty, hesitancy. The Current - one long river with tributary fingers pointing elsewhere: mysteries off-line from the current world.

Michael Kelsey is Quantumspeck. For several years focused on sound design working for Big Fish Audio & later, independently as Soundforest. The unique sample collection Voice Fusions received rave reviews from all the major electronic music magazines. Electronic Music called it “truly artistic sound design...”
These days there is less and less a distinction between sound design and music.
