Nikita Ermonskiy, aka blije (dutch for ‘joyful), brings his incredible debut ‘unsolicited’ to Pure Life. Inspired by his childhood of watching VHS recordings of 90’s MTV in Russia and not understanding the language but enjoying the vibes, ‘unsolicited’ feels like happening across an obscure, unmarked tape of house and techno classics from the period, complete with catchy lead hooks, unintelligible vocal chops and, below the danceable elements, an undertone of melancholy. A perfect companion for the dying embers of the summer time.
