PULLING WEEDS by Pulling Weeds

Welcome to our Pandemic side project, because why not. Just four indie musicians trying to stay busy while the world simultaneously grinds to a halt and rages full on. Barbara (Girls on Grass) & Petey (True Mongrel Hearts), are singer-songwriters with a shared love for the band X. For "Dark River" Pete revived a riff-and-chorus he had written under the influence of Creedence, then Barbara welded Billy Zoom and Exene into its DNA. Scott (Fond Farewells, Rebecca Turner) & Joe (The Pickups, American Ambulance) came together on tape to become a nitrous oxide-charged four wheel drive, powerful in the mud and ruts, and craza-zee on the open road. Meanwhile, All My Black Tomorrows had been recorded with Joe and Pete in demo form at Scott's old place overlooking a wind-swept graveyard. Scott and Barbara added the special sauce.

Taken together, this blink-and-you'll-miss-it collision of four iconoclastic music geeks ultimately stakes out its own turf: Punk with Soul? Listening to New Wave while tripping on speedy acid? Dark 4:20 riff rock at the 7/11 but everyone is a Socialist? YOU MAKE THE CALL!
