Fandamane - LP by Jozéfinn' Austral View
J.A.V. stands for Jozéfinn' Austral View, a group of five musicians from three different nationalities embarking on a remarkable musical journey. Founded by Jean Pierre Jozéfinn’, a musician from Réunion Island, the project explores musical syncretism by blending traditions like maloya, sega, salegy, tsapiky, and goma with jazz. To bring this vision to life, Jozéfinn’ has gathered exceptional musicians from the southwestern Indo-Oceanic region.
Fandamane is the new album from Jozéfinn' Austral View. Produced by experimental musician Joan Arnau Pàmies from Protomaterial Records, the band was invited to Spain to record this new work after Pàmies witnessed their breathtaking performance at Jammin' Juan in Juan-les-Pins (France). The new album promises to be even deeper, more powerful, and unifying than ever.
Fandamane features a special guest, steel pan virtuoso Andy Narell, who appears on two tracks: "Tangaz" and "Tsara Be." The album pushes musical syncretism further than ever, blending the rich traditions of the countries represented on the album with the core elements of jazz.
