Mars & Nails is an ode to the mysticism of depression naps. I always see a buncha spritely imps jovially dancing around a fire in the black forests of germany laughing and comparing the souls they’ve managed to steal that day. I think the belief that neuroses are just lil demons running around with pieces of your soul is funny and sad and freaky.

I’ve always held a reverence for the silent & still panic of not being able to get out of bed. The raging voices inside your head of shame, anger, desperation, and bargaining, but if someone were to look in the room it would just be a blanketed mass on a bed in the midday sun. I think the time right before you confront yourself is so ripe. It’s not running, it’s not denying, it’s turning around and staring before you take action. I wanted to show what that felt like.
