Jymz began his beat making career as a early teen. Starting with a production software trial making beep-boop tunes, it was clear he had a passion for music, especially electronica. Though his intensions were pure, it would take many years before he would develop his self-learnt skills to produce with clear vision. Nevertheless, the seed was planted.

His early exposure to electronic music included deep house, afro house and ambient jungle through 90s/00s video games, early 2000s internet, Essex pirate radio and house parties.

At 16, he took a visit to Brixton o2 Academy. Here he experienced his first "rave", an infamous term which he quickly realised was misplaced. The inclusive community spirit, coupled with the high-energy UK scene lit a spark that would last a lifetime.

Soon after, Jymz restarted production. An eye-opening trip to Australia around the same time gave him all the motivation he needed to start taking things a bit more seriously and soon after, started mastering and exporting his music for his friends to hear. Within 6 months and a summer of non-stop dedication in 2019, he completed his first LP. While this project is now lost in the ether along with several other singles and EPs, it was far from the end of his musical journey.

It took Jymz several more years of Sheffield nightlife, deep dives into genres like amapiano, dub, jungle and gqom, before his sound would mature. In 2024, Jymz began the path of a new project, a full-length album, "Original".

Over several months, he worked tireless to produce a versatile celebration of the process from teenage inspiration to adult appreciation. "Original" is by no means his first project, but it is the first he's excited to share in a professional manner.

Plyo Radio, an IP manifested after years of dreaming and deliberation, was born in 2024 with a successful debut event in early 2025. With support from friends this has now evolved from an underground event to a record label, striving to give creative freedom to artists looking to embrace worldwide energetic sounds the way the UK scene does best. "Original" has about 9 different genres packed in, we think this perfectly reflects the philosophy Plyo Radio is going for.
