Through the use of the nightmare machine, Little Richard albums and controlling media interests the Byrdies de-construct human emotion. Replacing it with shallow self interest. Convincing the "New Byrdies" as they were called that the moon was a sentient being of great power who required offerings, obedience and excellent forest management.
