Weekend Rentals by Mom$
This is a soundtrack to a movie that does not exist. But if you are familiar with any kind of shlock B movie or cult film the sound won't be that odd to you.
This album is basically a homage to those kinds of throwaway jank loops, made with cheap drum machines and keyboards. Some of them, more bombastic than others. But in the end all the same.
It also throws me back to a simpler time of renting movies and videogames at a videostore or from a friend. Nights spent getting high or drunk or both watching something of which the box art looked cool, but beyond that, had no idea what could be inside. It could either be a masterpiece, or a piece of shit. Who fucking knows. But it was always fun. I still indulge in B movies till this day.
All of these songs were made on a non-stop 2 day creative bender where i just threw pasta at the walls, see what stuck. For the people who are used to my usual output, you might find yourselves surprised or disappointed. And i don't blame you. It's an odd concept. But to the freakazoid Video store dwellers these chunes might hopefully let you indulge for a minute in some nostalgic memories of your own. Or maybe not.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this tape.
