Although this is zakè’s debut release on PITP, these arrangements were originally created in 2006. Sharing a fitting description of the label name with the release, it truly is the ‘Past Inside the Present’. These time-worn selections unfold like a slow-moving cascade. Quiet, delicate, and gracefully drifting, these understated arrangements weave together warm, ambient drones that shift from a faint abyss to luminous, unrestrained abandon. Lo-fi textures ripple across the surface with a gentle warmth, while sinewy mid-tonal synths sway between idle afternoon reflections and hazy daydreams. Subtly distorted lows, punctuated by transitional swells, propel the music forward, creating a sense of weightless motion. The album breathes with a natural cadence, its final moments dissolving into a quiet, lingering afterglow like a dream slipping just beyond reach.

Written, recorded, and produced by zakè in 2006, this collection remained largely unreleased until its public debut in 2019. The original mixing and mastering were handled by zakè, with a fresh remaster completed at Ambient Mountain House by James Bernard.

The arrangements, Cenotaph, Adventus, Young Spirit, and Slow Reverence, were created during the same 2006 sessions and have been newly remixed and remastered by zakè.

At the time of their creation, only 30 CDrs, housed in plain white digipaks, were privately distributed among friends, making this release a rare glimpse into zakè’s early sound world.
