Walking where the water meets the land
Eyes heavy, not taking someone’s hand
Bright and breezy, it’s a sky of washed blue
Ebb and flow, so far away from me and you

Sunlight rising above sea birds and clouds
Pebbles and imprints calling without a sound
Tide moving out, in rock pools thoughts linger
Undertow not dragged down by her

Listening to the ebb and flow
Watching it push and pull
I wait for a time to go
And search for a song, yet unsung

And I have been here once before
On a page yet unwritten
I knew one day I’d come back again
Only after good times, and after rain

Can we shake off the trappings of a modern life?
Mercy, justice, and for hope we shall strive
Take out my boat, lapping and uncertain
Sleep in the dunes, reflecting on creation
