BEST JAZZ ALBUM 2016 NZ Music Awards
This album is the third in my “dedication trilogy", following Delayed Reaction (for Michel Petrucciani) and Flaubert’s Dance (for several musical heroes). The music here springs from the often unconscious influences that form the building blocks of compositions. These derive not only from the wide jazz landscape explored in my radio programme “The Art of Jazz”, but also from experiences arising from playing and teaching.
