"I started making the record that eventually became Born (Free) with the following question: "What if Popol Vuh made a record for Siltbreeze?" That original idea lives in 3 or maybe 4 of the tracks. I hope they will be obvious.
The rest ended up being informed/inspired by this related self-query: "What if I made a 'low-fi' record, more or less raw expression, that reflects my love of 90s labels like Siltbreeze, Xpressway, Drunken Fish, etc.?"
