Tangerine by Persica 3
"Persica 3 is a music project based in Paris. You won’t learn much more about who’s behind it but I bet their mini-album ‘Tangerine’ will instantly strike a familiar chord. These seven songs are exactly what I wanted to listen to during this difficult winter. They recall an emotional attachment to the south of France and childhood memories of the sea, cicadas and the smell of mandarin peels. Let’s imagine the side A as a warm colour gathering the sun rays, not far removed from Panda Bear or Lotus Plaza. Side B would then be a rainy summer day: all you can do is stay behind the window and let a soothing feeling of melancholy overwhelm you, surrounded by reverberated vocal harmonies. At the end of the day, Persica 3’s sound is a good helping of optimism. Few people are able to write such beautiful music about growing apart."
