Al atardecer, un pequeño grupo de gaviotas cangrejeras (Larus atlanticus) se alimenta en una orilla calma de la isla. Al fondo, parejas de ostreros (Haematopus palliatus) comunicándose. Un grupo de gaviotas cocineras (Larus dominicanus) pasan volando. Chimangos (Milvago chimango) en el interior de la isla. Una gaviota cangrejera protagoniza con sus pasos en el agua y los sonidos propios de la cacería. Al final, levanta vuelo y se retira en dirección a la colonia, ubicada en la costa opuesta de la isla. Un avión interviene en el paisaje recordando que la ciudad está muy cerca.

At the sunset, a small group of Olrog´s gulls (Larus atlanticus) feeds at the seaside. In the background, a couple of american oystercatchers (Haematopus palliatus) calling each other. A group of kelp gulls (Larus dominicanus) fly over. Chimango caracara (Milvago chimango) in the interior of the island. An Olrog´s gull stars this scene walking and feeding at the seaside. At the end, it flies away in direction to the colony on the opposite coast of the island. A airplane intervenes this soundscape remembering that the city is close.

As a biologist and sound artist I look forward to the interaction between science and arts through sounds. I explore sounds in different nature-culture interaction scenarios, with focus on biodiversity and soundscapes as key elements of natural and cultural heritage. Contemplation, field recording, analysis and digital processing, allow me to re-interpret those sounds in different contexts.
