Bye Honey from Beamorose by Penelope Antena

Belgian singer, songwriter, and producer Penelope Antena offers "Bye Honey", the dynamic second single from her kaleidoscopic sophomore album "Beamorose", set for release on Brooklyn/LA based imprint Youngbloods. Spiritual in tone and grandiose in execution, Penelope recruits Chicago based musicians Charlie Coffeen and Brendan Forrest - carefully weaving together R&B, Gospel, and experimental production techniques as a powerful homage to newfound creative inspiration.

Following the release of her debut solo record "Antelope" (2019, KowTow Records), Penelope sought to find like-minded collaborators to further develop her carefully cultivated style of songwriting and production. This search landed her on a plane to Chicago, an impromptu trip that would yield a number of friendships and act as a catalyst to crafting the foundation of her "Beamorose" album. "Bye Honey" was one of the preliminary compositions written during Penelope's trip to the midwest, its sky high vivacious vocal delivery reflective of the thrill of being immersed in a new city and America's rich musical history.

"I wanted to really capture that feeling I felt going to Chicago for the first time, feeling inspired by the city's energy and imagining what it would be like having to fly away from it after having lived all those amazing experiences. It's such an uplifting song, and one of the first I wrote in collaboration with other producers/friends."
