Rachel, Laura Jane and Slavek here.

... a huge thanks to you who came out and supported us and performed with us over the summer, we had three wonderful powerful p(art)ys one after the other:

July in The Old Schoolhouse, Scarriff,
August at Courthouse Gallery Ennistymon
and September in Ennis Peace Park in association with Culture Night.

We are now inviting you to the p(art)y Here and Now October event:

Our next p(art)y Here and Now is Saturday 19th October and in honour of Oíche Shamhna we are going to situate ourselves around and within the spectacular environment of the Clare Augustinian Abbey, an Abbey founded before 1189, located off the Clarecastle roundabout, outside Ennis.

This is an ancient and atmospheric space, with gravestones situated within and outside the abbey. It is to all effects outdoors, as the abbey is in a ruined state and roofless. On an accessibility level it has limited accessibility. We will be on hand to assist anyone who requires it to enter and exit the space. Please note while there is public lighting at the Abbey it will be cold and obviously dark in the surrounding area so please dress warmly whilst still observing Halloween costume! Please bear in mind that we will approach the performance in a respectful and mindful manner keeping in mind the ancient site and the graves in the area.

Date: Saturday 19 October

Time: 6.45 - 8pm

Venue: Clare Augustinian Abbey, Off Clarecastle Roundabout, ClareCastle, Co Clare.

To access the abbey, take the signposted exit at Clareabbey Roundabout, and the abbey is located 1km down the road that runs alongside the N85.
The road is narrow, so it is not easy for large vehicles to enter.

Cost: no charge as the venue is publicly owned.

Parking: parking is available at the end of the road that runs alongside the N85

What exactly is p(art)y Here and Now?
The event is planned as a one hour live performance art event, during which time we will all perform in the same space, at the same time. We will all start at the same time and finish at the same time.
By 'perform' we mean that you are free to create or express yourself in any way you should choose. Sometimes it is easier to describe performance as an artistic intention. You are free to behave in an intentionally artistic creative way for the duration of the hour-long event.
There will be a lot of different ways that participants might choose to perform. Some of the artists participating will be making sound art, using equipment. Others may choose to bring props, or particular outfits to wear and to use as they perform. Others will be performing through movement and/or dance, or vocally. If you have a specific performative intention you wish to carry out, that is fine. Our goal is that we all work together in the same space for the hour duration, and see what entails.
