"When I think about glitch art the first thing that comes to mind is layers. Layers of shapes and colors working together to create something new. In my mind that’s how the visual world works. There are things in the foreground and things in the background that, together with your vantage point, create a scene. With glitch however there is a sense of manipulation and augmentation. Things to do not look as they normally do, but what does “normally” really mean anyway? The glitch art of Sara Goodman has always made me think about sound and especially the sound that I make. When putting together an album I always think of it as compiling layers of transparent color, each one changing the overall image. There becomes a distortion to the end product. An abstraction of the elements involved which can be interpreted by the viewer."
