Spanish sound collage maestro BEFA has been creating politically charged anti-fascist works across various compilations on Ohm Resistance, Gràcia Territori Sonor, and Noise in Opposition, amongst others. Compositions carefully constructed, tense atmospheres in which themes of liberty, resistance, and community amongst humans are explored, audienteogénica is a master level work. Following last years equally ponderous album “de la otredad”, this album delivers as a fantasist audio film, creating memorable and stimulating scenes.
Adding to the range of the project, BEFA collaborates with several other artists in for this album, including Spanish industrial dub project Gravelbed. Gravelbed features Dave Cochrane, whom adept listeners will recognize from associated projects with label favorite Justin K Broadrick (Head of David/Sweet Tooth). Also onboard are HARKO, Donnie Strickland, and fellow Spanish electroacoustic warrior Sr. Bajundá. The tracks operate like visions, in relation to the concept psychedelic universe lifeforce concept of audienteogénica. A welcome return to our experimental pathway, packaged inside a beautifully designed art booklet by Alonso Urbanos, this latest album is an entire world of crafted sound environments, better to be heard than described.
