If I could say it well enough I’d embibe you
But you can’t take my motor skills
To Donnybrooks out dark where I’ve been
Picking fights in my mind with you
Trying to speak my mind to sound while
Growing old in my time to kill

It might be too much
But I can name a few things
Like we all rot like wood in the dirt
Where the cows are grazing
Sweat runs down my back to the floor
The handle turns on a broken door
Try to save
before the get-down
For all your work
Still died a letdown


Man to man
Will you give up the ghost without a fight?
Is that all that your worth?
For all that your mothers and fathers died?
Are all out of words
Or fed up with your spot with the rest of us in the dirt?
