It's been over a year since Psoma issued new work in David Burraston's open-ended NYZ subcatalog - a point we're looking to rectify with a crop of no less than three new releases.

The first of this new triad is MTP4, the newest iteration in NYZ’s ongoing exploration with GForce software synthesis instruments. A real beauty, made using the M-Tron Pro IV, where we get to witness a spaced out long-form drone exploration in intricate slow motion. Apparently, NYZ has been witness to a real Mellotron in Bradbury’s studio too. Regarding the Mellotron he notes :

“It’s a really amazing early tape based sample instrument, and the software version is incredible! It’s definitely out there on its own. Coming from the UK I also heard it back when it came out in the 60’s as a little kid. It left a lasting indelible impression on my mind. So the opportunity to have a great software version is really something else. When Jerome got in touch and asked if I was interested to have a copy I immediately said yes please! I was delighted and very grateful for their support. Awesome crew. Thanks folks! Once it was installed I disappeared for a few days, and this is one of the drone sessions I worked on. Utterly blissful I thought. I didn’t want to leave the studio, I thought I was in some crazy kiddy dream :)”

We happily invite you along with NYZ on another GForce synth session in the spirit of MM2, ODT3 and SEM on Psoma, and the earlier OSC2 release on Superpang. As an expanding series of releases, NYZ bathes us yet again in a gorgeous oceanic herbal bath of drone using his own pioneering methods and techniques. We have been enjoying it here of a late evening, but this is a “totally anytime/anywhere you need it” piece of work.
