It's been over a year since Psoma issued new work in David Burraston's open-ended NYZ subcatalog - a point we're looking to rectify with a crop of no less than three new releases.

The third of this new triad is GRFM, and we are off and rolling with yet another of NYZ’s favourite sub-obsessions - that of FM and the Golden Ratio. We don’t need to touch upon the background of the Golden Ratio here, suffice to say it has been influential in countless areas and NYZ has been interested in it for quite some time. Now, he has decided to start feeding your ears with his own take on this approach, consisting of some FM explorations - hence the appropriately titled GRFM.

This one pays homage to John Chowning [of course!] and utilises his 9 note Phi tuning. We are informed it’s “been hooked up with FM algorithms using Fibonacci Sequence numbers for it’s ratios.” As ever, NYZ reminds us through this long form drone that his exploratory sound worlds really do extend in all directions.. as he informed us on sending this one in : “It’s designed to subconsciously interweave itself into the very fabric of your being.” And we heartily agree!
