You’ve got all the city up from here
and she keeps running away
Cars pull over under trees
leaving the leaves behind
I stare at the Guanabara Bay
sleeping along the night
Arms wide open to believe
in love at first sight

But she knows
that pieces from the ground
might explode

The moon keeps balancing the tide
above the traffic lights
Hills exhale mystery
scattered throughout the sea
She takes the subway to escape
but that’s a one way
I seat at the sidewalk just to wait
and she runs, she runs, she runs

Life is roaring
Time is soaring
Streets are zooming
And she has to run

The more I guess the more she’s right
it’s always the same sky
Life, she says, is just a dream
as the city we live in
And I never trust on lazy eyes
but sometimes I wonder why
When I sleep I see it in low-fi
that who runs is she and I
