Recordings are akin to a musical journal. Nick developed these intricate pieces over time. As you listen, you can hear him figuring out where the song wants to go. I consider them to be archival performance recordings—determined, sensitive, and always searching—they reflect where Nick was in the moment of each composition's development.
15 tracks and approximately 77 minutes of music.
Some pieces are more complete than others but the collection provides a sense of his musical interests and dedication to experimental and acoustic music.
This is the music that filled our home and life together over many years.
Nick performed several of these pieces live at the Kranzberg Arts Foundation, St. Louis, MO on November 6, 2015.
All proceeds from the sales of this recording will go to the Nick Rudd Music Fund at the University of Illinois School of Music to support an annual concert in Nick's memory.
