Wave from Neighbourly by Neighbourly

Despite being the last track on the album, Wave, unintentionally, was the first song recorded for this project. Starting as an arrangement on the bass, the bones of the recording was a take after a couple of weeks of learning the song between the bass, drums, and guitar. For a long time Wave sat on the shelf, with the group coming back to consider recording it again, but there was something special about that initial recording, the fresh feel was there, and what was needed was simply the wavy textures and melancholy lyrics.

Vancouver Island psychpop outfit Neighbourly wed the freedom of psych-rock with layers of eclectic pop and funk influences. Formerly called SPEAK EASY, the four-piece engage electrically to fuse riveting arrangements brimming with playful and tantric tones.
