Crumbling columns whisper secrets between the notes of "Beneath Arkades." We recorded this track at dawn, when the light caught ancient dust hanging in the air of our mountain refuge. The haunting bouzouki phrase that opens the song came to Stephanos in a dream after we visited the actual ruins – he woke up at 3 AM and played it until his fingers bled.

There's something raw and unresolved in this music that mirrors the fractured landscape of Arkades itself. The tension builds so gradually you might not notice until you're drowning in it. We layered seventeen tracks of vocals in the chorus, including whispers captured in the actual ruins, creating that sensation of ancestors pressing in from all sides.

The war drums intensify like heartbeats as the track progresses, symbolizing the quickening pulse of travelers who realize they're treading on ground where gods once quarreled. We wanted that feeling of inheritance – the weight of carrying forward something you never asked for but can't put down.

Those melodic fragments that echo "Ash and Laurel" weren't initially planned. During mixing, we realized these songs share a spiritual bloodline, the way certain hills in Greece feel connected across miles of separation.
